The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is becoming a national leader in energy efficiency and renewable energy. The Town of Carver, part of Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District, has taken advantage of the clean energy environment in Massachusetts. In an effort to save the Town money and reduce its carbon footprint, Carver secured a transportation easement and installed solar panels along Route 44 to power the North Carver Water project. The land along Route 44 was leased to Carver from MassDOT for 20 years and Pennsylvania-based SolareAmerica designed and built the solar installation to offset the electrical usage of the Town’s water treatment facility.
