Solar 101 Workshop
Local governments interested in learning about sparking solar projects in the Southeast Florida region are invited to a free workshop with national and local experts on Friday, July 22nd. This interactive workshop will provide actionable information on creating local-level solar policies and permitting processes. Areas of focus include: benefits (and barriers) of solar, understanding the evolving regulatory landscape, getting your community solar ready, and innovative financing options.
Solar Powering Sunnyside Workshop
Following the morning workshop, join the American Planning Association for a fun new planning game about solar development. Take on the roles of different community stakeholders in the fictional Town of Sunnyside to help set and meet the town’s solar power production goal. Discuss solar development opportunities and challenges associated with each of Sunnyside’s land uses and see how community priorities and zoning approaches affect a solar development scenario. This game is free and appropriate for local planners, public officials, residents, business owners, and anyone else that has an interest in incorporating solar energy into their community.
