As part of the SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership, IREC will be holding a free, half-day workshop to provide technical assistance to local government officials in Mammoth Lakes, Mono County, Alpine County and surrounding jurisdictions who are interested learning about ways to improve their permitting processes for solar facilities. IREC will cover the three primary components of the solar permitting process—the pre-application stage, application submittal, and facility inspection. For each of these steps, IREC will offer suggestions on how to improve and streamline the permitting process in ways that benefit the permitting authority, as well as solar installers and their customers.
After the workshop, IREC will be available on an on-going basis for one-on-one assistance to city and county officials interested in pursuing changes to their solar permitting polices and processes. We would welcome the chance to help you to determine your community’s particular needs and interests, and identify the changes necessary to meet them.
